CS 0004: Introduction to Programming with Visual Basic

Description

This is a first course in computer science. It is designed to be of special interest to students majoring in one of the social sciences or humanities. Objectives of this course include: a) The use of the computer in an interactive environment. b) Problem analysis and the development of algorithms. c) Learning the Visual Basic programming language. d) Designing, coding, and documenting programs.

Prerequisites

None.

CS Major Credit

Students majoring in Computer Science are not permitted to take this course after completing CS 0401.

Requirements and Grading

Between 4 and 6 programming assignments, 1 or 2 exams, and a cumulative final exam. An instructor may substitute several quizzes for one exam.

Recitation: None.

Expected class size: 35 students.

Frequency: This course is offered every term.
