Ahmed Amer

 

Brief Bio

Ahmed Amer is an assistant professor of Computer Science at the University of Pittsburgh. He joined the department in Fall 2002/3 after receiving his PhD from the University of California, Santa Cruz where he was a member of the Storage Systems Research Center.

Research Interests

His research areas are systems, particularly storage and file systems, operating systems, and distributed systems. His work focuses on the predictive management of data and storage.  His recent work involves automated data grouping with applications to data placement, caching, energy management and reliability He is especially interested in storage technologies, and their most practical and automated use.
