    Dec 9, 2008: I will be the program co-chair of the 12th International Workshop on Web and Databases (WebDB), to be held together with the ACM SIGMOD/PODS 2009 conference in late June 2009.
    Nov 7, 2008: I came across a very interesting web site: change.gov/agenda/technology/.
    Nov 5, 2008: I am giving a presentation about my Virtual WebDB Laboratory project in the 2008 Teaching Excellence Fair at 10:30am. You can watch my presentation live.
    Oct 21, 2008: I came across the non-partisan AVoteForScience at YouTube -- I particularly liked Ed Lazowska's video.
    Oct 10, 2008: I am quoted in the Pitt News in the story about email blacklisting.
    Oct 1, 2008: Our RFID-based scavenger hunt demo during Computer Science Day 2008 is featured in the Summer 2008 issue of the Pitt Magazine.
    Sep 23, 2008: Our paper, Adaptive Scheduling of Web Transactions, has been accepted to ICDE 2009.
    Sep 1, 2008: As of today, I am an associate professor!
    Aug 28, 2008: I am giving a tutorial on Scheduling Continuous Queries in Data Stream Management Systems at VLDB 2008 in Auckland, New Zealand, together with Mohamed Sharaf and Panos Chrysanthis. (video of why CQ scheduling is important!).
